About this experience

The walk in is part of the experience: twenty silent minutes on a soft path through one of Iceland’s oldest birch woods, phones left at the trailhead. The canyon opens suddenly — three stone pools at different temperatures, built by hand into the rock, fed by a hot spring our family has used for four generations. You have two unhurried hours in the water. A guide quietly manages temperatures and brings cold water and dried fish & butter (the traditional bath snack). The silent walk back out, downhill in late light, is the part people write to us about.

The silent walk in changes everything — by the time you reach the pools you are already somewhere else. The dried fish with butter is oddly perfect.

Three pools, three temperatures, zero crowds, a guide who appears exactly when needed and vanishes otherwise. Masterclass in hosting.

Stunning spot and genuinely silent. The walk is easy but bring decent footwear. Worth every krona.
