Day 1 – Arrive in Hveragerði
On the first day of your Wellness Week, you will arrive in Hveragerði, and settle in. The goal is for you to become the best version of yourself, therefore, a nutritious dinner, and a good night sleep are necessary to kick-start your healthy adventure.
Day 2 – Hiking and Wellness
In the morning, we recommend doing some yoga, stretching or light exercising. Afterwards, regain your energy with a balanced breakfast, made of local organic produce. When you finish your meal, go on an energizing morning hike near Hveragerði.
Lunch. Our recommendation is a fresh organic vegetarian meal and herbal tea, produced locally. In the afternoon, head to the Geothermal Pool for some swimming and water exercising. Warm water helps relieve stress and tension.
Eat dinner and spend the rest of your day relaxing.
Day 3 – Staying healthy
When you’re done with your morning exercising and breakfast, go on a hot springs hike near Hveragerði. This is a leisure day, planned for relaxing and treating your body, mind and soul the best way you possibly can. Find ways to connect with the surrounding nature or enjoy the hotel spa. Free yourself from worries and only focus on feeling amazing, both mentally and physically.
Day 4 – Reykjadalur hike and Gullfoss/Geysir
After your morning routine, consider going on a Reykjadalur hike. The Valley of Reykjadalur is named after hot springs and the steam rising from them. A warm river runs down the valley and if you are adventurous enough you can take a bath in it.
Bring a packed lunch with you in case you get hungry along the way. You will also have a chance to relax in one of the geothermal pools.
After an early dinner, you might want to see the famous Gullfoss Waterfall and Geysir hot springs. The Geysir geothermal area boasts spouting springs, including Strokkur, the most active geyser in Iceland. At Gullfoss waterfall you will feel the enormous power of the water tumbling into the deep gorge. These natural resources will make you feel a part of nature.
Day 5 – Þingvellir National Park
After a healthy, energizing breakfast, get ready for Nordic Walking in Þingvellir National Park. Þingvellir National Park is a historic site for Icelandic Politics and the Democracy as well as geological history. The Þingvellir area is part of a fissure zone running through Iceland, being situated on the tectonic plate boundaries of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Lake Þingvallavatn is fertile and rich in vegetation despite very cold temperatures. Wildlife of birds, ducks and biodiversity make Þingvellir National Park renown as well as its beauty.
You’ll be able to have lunch at the Spa restaurant, after which you can continue hiking at Laugarvatn.
Have a nice, well-deserved steam bath after the hike and a delicious organic dinner afterwards.
Day 6 – Þórsmörk and Stakkholtsgjá Nature Hike
We hope you won’t have gotten tired of hiking by now, because this day will be the perfect for Þórsmörk and Stakkholtsgjá Nature Hike. Þórsmörk is a mountain ridge in Iceland that was named after the Norse god Thor, located as an oasis in between the Glaciers of Eyjafjallajökull and Tindfjallajökull. You will be hiking on the glaciers to the canyon Stakkholtsgjá with its waterfall and to the summits of surrounding peaks, with rewarding views. Again, bring something to eat so you have enough strength and energy.
Same as the day before, you can give your legs a break by chilling at the Spa.
Have dinner and head to bed early, tomorrow will be the your last day of your trip!
Day 7 -Blue Lagoon spa and Departure
After you check out from the Hotel, travel to the Blue Lagoon Resort. You can spend a full day at the world famous Blue Lagoon which is one of the 25 wonders of the world. Treat yourself, at the private pool area, with special silica mud masks, steam and sauna rooms and even a real waterfall. It is recommended that you take regular breaks from the water. There is a separate relaxation area offering comfortable seating and soothing music to relax to. It also has an amazing view, looking out over the lagoon. You can have lunch in the Lava restaurant which has a tempting array of fresh, healthy meals.
On Day 7 you will have the chance to Transfer from Blue Lagoon to Keflavik Airport.
